Jan 26th, 2013

Today was a day to get everything caught up and ready for our trip. We went to the small shop just down the road from us and bought a few things that had just come in from America. I bought some Tom Ramen, who would believe it! But we need to have something in the house if we can’t get to a store because of a bad storm. They will store the whole time that we are here and even though they are not good for us, they will keep us alive. She also had some snickers bars so Alan had to have a couple of those.
We got our laundry done and the apartment cleaned. Then we took a walk to the distribution center that is across from the temple. They got a shipment in this week and we wanted to buy some temple clothes. Not today. The only clothes that came in were in the much larger sizes. They are hoping to get another shipment in a week or two and have some smaller sizes then. I love it when a man looks at me and says that all of the clothes are too big for me. It’s good for my ego!
We called Kimi today. She went to the Dr. this morning and they “think” that she is having a girl. Duh, we did the pencil test months ago and knew she would have a girl first. We are THRILLED! The baby is doing great. The mass that Kimi has will have to come out so they will do the surgery next Friday. We were hoping that she wouldn’t have to have the surgery, but we know the blessing is that because she is pregnant they found the mass in the first place. It is not malignant and the Dr. feels that he can remove it safely without any harm to the baby. We are putting our faith in him, the Lord, and the blessing that Mike gave Kimi. We will be praying a lot this week.
When all of our clothes were dry, I started ironing. That is not fun in the middle of the day. Even with the fan on it was way to hot to iron. However, I survived and it is done! We spent some time working on our talks for church tomorrow. We will both be speaking in Sacrament Meeting, plus we have our Sunday School class to teach.
Tonight was movie night and we wanted to relax, so we went. Brother Szoka and I have different tastes in movies. We watched The Brothers Grimm. I thought it would be a fairy tale, and it was about fairy tales, but very dark and not uplifting like a fairy tale should be. I hope somewhere in his stash he has a comedy!!
